Have you ever wondered if there is a secret to living a good life? Are there principles that are transferrable from one area of life to another? Does God really care about the little things in my life?
To answer these questions I searched in the BlueLetterBible app for the phrases: “Whatever you do,” “Do everything,” and “Do nothing.” This led me to passages like Ecclesiastes 9:10, 1 Corinthians 10:23-33, Philippians 2, and Colossians 3:17-24. From these I discovered 13 principles for how we are to do everything in life.
We are to do all things:
- For the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31)
- With all your might (Ecclesiastes 9:10)
- Being mindful of your death (Ecclesiastes 9:10)
- In the name of Jesus (Colossians 3:17)
- With gratitude (Colossians 3:17)
- In love (1 Corinthians 16:14)
- Seeking the good of others (1 Corinthians 10:24 & 33)
- In sincerity of the heart (Colossians 3:22)
- From the soul (Colossians 3:23)
- Fearing the Lord (Colossians 3:22)
- Not as people-pleasers (Colossians 3:22-23)
- Without grumbling or arguing (Philippians 2:14)
- Without selfish ambition or conceit (Philippians 2:3)
I will expand on these principles in upcoming posts. Make sure you subscribe to stay up to date!

He is a God of absolutes, and yet, his grace…
